Today, I decided to cruise the Blogosphere and see what others might be saying about career and personal development. Wouldn't you know it! I did, indeed, find a little gem of an entry that left me pondering some of my own career choices.
In this article, Karen Ruby reviewed a manifesto from ChangeThis.com, entitled "Cherry Bombs: A Supplemental Kit to Radical Careering." In the manifesto, nine "cherry bombs" are offered up to give us immediate, explosive insight into what might be working vs. not working in our careers. I especially liked Cherry Bomb #3 - Ruin the Bell Curve. In essence, this cherry bomb notes that if you evaluate the potential success of every action, every outcome, and every project according to the outcome predicted by a Bell curve, you're doomed to mediocrity! Now, since we don't want to limit our possibilities for success, then we must be bold in our projection of expected results. Why not assume that fantastic things can happen! If you'd like to read the original ChangeThis.com maifesto, you'll need to download it in PDF format at the link above. However, Karen's review offers up the essence of the article in a friendlier online format. You can check-out Karen's Cherry Bombs review here and see what cherry bombs you should lob back at yourself. Trackbacks
