Surviving and Thriving After Life's Little Knocks

Setback Recovery ~ Personal Development ~ Life Coaching ~ Self Improvement

Life can be hard.... Life can throw major obstacles in your path.... And, quite honestly, life can knock you out flat from time to time. When this happens, we start to believe the future looks all too bleak. It becomes very difficult for most of us to see a better future where happiness, progress and success are once again possible.

If we step back and evaluate our lives, we'll usually see that life has been an ongoing series of ups and downs. When things were good, we've believed they would stay that way forever. And, when things were bad, we also believed that things would stay that way forever. When we're in the midst of personal crisis, it's hard to see our way out to the positive things still coming our way. Sometimes, the knocks can be so hard that we become too crippled to even find the solutions that would facilitate our recovery. But, in reality, if we just hang in there a little longer, do a few smart things, and don't lose heart, we usually will all emerge from our personal setbacks, often finding even higher levels of success.

Ahhh, but there's the key. When we're truly knocked out, it's hard to keep our spiritis up, and it's even harder to do those few smart things. That's where Bouncing-Back.net comes in. We'll help you understand the nature of the setbacks that we all experience, putting them into a realistic perspective where negative emotions can be stripped away. We'll show you practical tips for helping you emerge from various types of life challenges. And we'll give you plenty of motivational insights to help you pick yourself up, take a deep breath, and then begin anew to find your solutions and new successes.

Here are some of the life issues we'll be discussing:

v  Career - Our careers are an important aspect of our life, providing both our income (crucial from a survival point of view) and a powerful arena for fulfilling our needs for achievement and self-esteem. Yet the workplace can be an incredibly political, judgemental and destructive environment.

v  Entrepreneurial - Starting a business is somewhat like raising a child. We begin with a fledgling idea, nuture the business with all that we have to give, and pour our heart and soul into the enterprise. The business is often the very core identity of the true entrepreneur. So when these businesses flounder or fail, the entrepreneur loses his income source (survival), his heart's desire, and perhaps his very identity.

v  Family & Parenting - For many people, having and raising children is one of the most powerful influences of our lives. Little do we know that it is a difficult and treacherous journey that will test the limits of our personal resources. The responsibility of raising a child is huge, and these stresses often bring out our own unresolved issues of childhood, creating even more complex problems for all involved!

v  Life Skills - There have been literally hundreds of self-help books written in the last 20 years. Surprisingly, many of them actually do offer truly unique insight and recommendations to help us live happier, better-managed lives. This illustrates my belief that the human spirit is both complex and capable of endless growth and change. Take some time to learn a few new skills, and you may be pleasantly surprised at the positive changes you'll see.

v  Life Transitions - In the human life span, we pass through several life transitions or passages: childhood, puberty, childbearing adulthood, mature adulthood, retirement, and old age. As we move from phase to phase, transitions are often coupled with periods of personal crisis brought on by the changing requirements of our lives.

v  Marriage and Divorce - Marriage is a foundation value for most of us, but the actuality of choosing to marry, working to stay married, or living through a divorce can be some of the toughest challenges of our lives.

v  Personal Finance - In its truest sense, how we manage our family or personal finances represents who we are as people. We spend, save or invest our money in direct response to our fears, dreams, risk tolerances, expectations, and desires. Sometimes we make bad decisions, and sometimes financial disasters strike us without warning. Financial issues often require us to examine our core beliefs that may have left us vulnerable to financial disaster.

v  Relationships - Human relationships are complex, to say the least. They are as complex as: 1) the personalities of all of the people involved; 2) the range of emotions brought by each person to the relationship; and 3) the influence of all of the outside factors affecting each of the people in the relationship. Do the math and you'll see that human relationships are just plain messy!
